Saturday night at Oom Leo’s.
As I probably mentioned earlier, our first priority on arrival was the procurement of the chocolade hagelslaag. With remarkable clarity of memory, the children had already thought over what they had seen last year and decided which kind to buy (KrokkoVlokken, which is green ‘white chocolate’ and milk chocolate flakes with tiny white chocolate crocodile heads mixed in).
As we were walking into the grocery store, I saw my Tante Wanda, who lives nearby. It was a sort of homecoming, seeing someone nice whom we knew first thing.
